10 Reasons to be Optimistic About World Cup 2010, February 2009 WAG of the Month, John Terry’s Twin, and more

So what do I do with myself now that there’s no transfer craziness for another four months

Continue scouring the internet for transfer rumors, of course! We already know that David Beckham wants to stay at AC Milan, but in case you hadn’t heard, Bundesliga side Karlsruhe are keen on making loan signing Dino Drpic a permanent signing at the end of the season. Do you care Probably not, but I use this as a good excuse to introduce you to his wife.

Dan Gosling is the toast of the blue parts of Merseyside tonight, after his strike deep into extra time sent Everton to the fifth round of the FA Cup and dumped Liverpool out of the competition. Their reward is a home tie against Aston Villa, whose success has raised expectations just a bit for the home crowd.

Another man who Liverpool fans may not care for very much right now is Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa, who is one of the luckiest men in the world right now. Unfortunately, the linesman who missed his little karate move on Sunday is getting a demotion, along with another referee who could use a trip to the eye doctor.

Lucky for Chelsea, Bosingwa won’t have to miss any key upcoming clashes as the Blues try to catch up with Liverpool and Manchester United.

The threat of match fixing may be one more thing to make you all the more nervous about World Cup 2010 in South Africa You are just one of many, but maybe you should try to look at the brighter side of things. And if you want to familiarize yourself with all of the competing federations between now and then, we’re here to help.

South Africa will hopefully be nice, but one can’t be faulted for looking ahead to 2014. It’s a new month, and for faithful Soccerlens readers, that means it’s time for a new WAG of the Month. Frankly, it could have been another saucy South American, but I’m not complaining, and neither is one-year wonder Marco Borriello.

I hate to do this after the preceding paragraph, but then again, I don’t. Have you ever wondered if there is someone else out there who looks a spitting image of you (no smart answers from those who are knowingly twins!) If John Terry ever wondered, he knows now.
