ITV4 Horse Racing Tips From Leopardstown (Sunday 8th May)
4:05 – Cornelscourt Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) (3yo) 1m ITV4
Trainer Aidan O’Brien has won this race three times since 2013 and has another strong hand with CD winner Lullaby and the Ryan Moore-ridden History in the race. Jockey booking suggest History is the better of the pair with Moore riding and holds plenty of top Group entries for later in the season.
Course winners Agartha and Panama Red have shown a good level of form too to command respect, but another yard have targeted this race with success in recent times is Dermot Weld – they’ve won it in 2012 and 2014 – and run SUWAYRA @ 8/1 (e/w) with Boylesports.
This 3 year-old was a course winner here on debut last July and she also holds some fancy entries later in the season – including the Irish Oaks. That proven course form is a plus and can be expected to have got stronger over the winter.
4:35 – Derby Trial Stakes (Group 3) (3yo) 1m2f ITV4
Another race the Aidan O’Brien yard have done well in – they’ve won the last three and 5 of the last 10. With that in mind, theirSTONE AGE @ 6/4 with Boylesports, who will be ridden by Ryan Moore gets the call here.
This 3 year-old was a nice winner at Navan last time out – dotting up by 9 lengths that day and holds a Epsom Derby entry @ 10/1 with Boylesports – he looks an exciting colt and the O’Brien horses could not be in much better form at the moment.
Of the rest, Duke De Sessa, French Claim and Great Max can fight it out for the places.

5:05 – Amethyst Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+) 1m ITV4
Just the six runners here – Ger Lyons won this race 12 months ago and his stable try again with Georgeville, who will be better for a recent run at the Curragh and is a course winner here.
Real Appeal and Patrick Sarsfield are other course winners that have form in the book to go well, but this could be another for the in-form Aidan O’Brien yard with IVY LEAGUE @ 11/8 with Boylesports
This 3 year-old colt is another with some big entries later in the season and being the only 3 year-old in the race gets a handy weight pull from the others.
It’s interesting that O’Brien is pitching him in against the older horses already but is clearly a horse on the up after winning his last two at Dundalk and last time at Naas. Ryan Moore, who has ridden him in all three career runs, remains in the plate.
